St Clair Veterinary Group

In House Surgeries

We undertake the majority of complex surgical procedures IN HOUSE without the need for referral to specialist centres and Universities.

Ian Paterson holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (1999) and has many years experience in treating some of the more complex surgical diseases seen in small animal practice.

Ian and the nursing team are well equipped to deal with elective and traumatic orthopaedic surgeries as well as most complex soft tissue procedures.

24 hour nursing facilities at our main surgery in Kirkcaldy allow us to hospitalise complicated surgical cases for as long as is needed to allow a full recovery. As in human medicine, complex cases often require many days of intensive care after their operation and moving pets or sending them home too early could be detrimental.

Neil Geddes holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Ophthalmology (1996) and has been taking eye referral work from practices throughout Scotland for over 15 years. For more information please go to the Eye Referral Service page. Again, many of Neil's ophthalmology cases require overnight hospitalisation and intensive round the clock nursing post operatively

Fiona Burnet has a wealth of experience in the fields of canine and feline dentistry and deals with our more complicated dental cases. Fiona has attended CPD courses with Norman Johnston, an American and European Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry and regarded as one of the foremost veterinary dentists in Europe.
