Nurses

Linda Jack VN

Linda has been with us since 1995 and qualified as a VN three years later. She enjoys dentistry and has obtained a veterinary dentistry certificate which has made Linda an even more valuable asset to the practice. Linda also likes getting involved with the setting up and running of the nurse clinics.

Linda enjoys cycling (when it's not raining!) and going for walks with her Staffie, Lexie. Her other hobbies include spending time with her partner and two sons, socialising with friends and collecting as many gardening tips as she can.


Susan Quinn VN

Susan has been with us since 1992, qualifying two years later and now works with us part-time.

Her work interests include pet behavioural problems and surgical nursing. Susan is responsible for the theatre nursing of Neilís opththalmology surgical cases and has gained invaluable experience of phacoemulsification and lens replacements. Susan now plays a principal role in the running of the many puppy parties we hold at the practice.

Susan enjoys spending time with her two young girls and leads an active social life in Kirkcaldy.


Dawn Mackie RVN

Dawn has been with the practice since 1999 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2003. She became a qualified nurse training assessor in January 2004 and performs a vital role in the practice as a nursing team manager and in training our student nurses to a high standard. Dawn enjoys working with the students and gets great satisfaction in helping her colleagues to achieve their qualifications.

In her spare time Dawn likes spending time with her son, her two cats Pickle and Norbert as well as her two guinea pigs Tubey and eggbird (named by her son!) other hobbies include gardening and keeping fit.




Fiona Ross RVN

Fiona started at the practice in March 2003 and she became a qualified veterinary nurse in May 2007. Like her twin sister Dawn, Fiona has unbounding enthusiasm for her job and is always eager to learn new procedures. Fiona is an asset to the St Clair family as she regularly helps in other areas including reception and accounts, you could say she is a jack of all trades!

Fiona has developed a real love of endurance training and regularly takes part in enduarnce events.She also loves spending time with her cats and husband Michael and 2 daughters.




Pauline Smith RVN

Pauline joined the St Clair team in September 2006 and qualified in 2012 after taking a short break from her studies. Pauline enjoys all aspects of nursing but particularly enjoys nursing inpatients back to health and building a bond and trust with them. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and walking her two labradors.






Leah Paterson RVN

Leah started at St. Clair in June 2009, previously having attended the practice as a student on placement on the Veterinary Nursing Preparatory Course. She is thoroughly enjoying learning new skills whilst working with the animals.

In her spare time enjoys gym and keeping fit and spending time with her fiance chris and her two cats Jax and Kimbo.





Angela McKenzie RVN

Angela completed a HNC in Animal Care at Elmwood College and then qualified as a registered vet nurse in 2012 after training at Napier University and Telford college. She joined the St Clair team in November 2014 and her nursing role includes clinical coaching of nursing students. Her varied hobbies include cycling, knitting dog jackets and a fascination with egyptology! Over the years she has accumulated a number of rescue animals including 4 dogs, 3 cats, 5 rabbits and a snake.






Alex Caird

Alex joined St Clair in March 2015 as a student VN, the first step on the path to achieving her dream of being a veterinary nurse. She has already gained an HND in Animal care after 3 years study at Elmwood College and has previously worked for a doggy daycare centre catering for up to 30 dogs each day. In her spare time she does voluntary work enjoys live music, is learning to scuba dive and spends time with friends and family and Bob the dog.








Rachael Gemmell RVN

Rachael qualified from Napier University in 2014 with an honours degree in veterinary nursing. She worked with Vets Now whilst studying and joined St Clair Vet Group after she qualified. Rachael enjoys working with exotic species and also orthopaedic surgical nursing.

In her spare time Rachael participates in pole and aerial dancing and leads an active social life in Kirkcaldy. She shares her home with Mr Leroy Brown the cat.








Hannah Park

Hannah has been with the practice since 2014 and is currently in her final year at college in Edinburgh studying to become a veterinary nurse. In her spare time Hannah enjoys taking her Welsh Cob, Kelty, out and about to shows. She also enjoys long walks with her two Dalmatians Jackson and Pepper.








Amy Douglas RVN

Amy moved to Edinburgh from South Africa in 2010 to pursue a career in veterinary nursing. She qualified from Edinburgh Napier University in 2015 with an honours degree, having also received a university medal, and started working at St Clair Vet Group in May 2016. Amy has very quickly integrated into our nursing team and has become a valued member of staff.

Amy enjoys dog walking and visiting the gym, as well as enjoying all the cosmopolitan delights of her adopted home town of Edinburgh.






Catherine Brunet

Catherine joined St Clair Vet Group in 2014 as a student veterinary nurse having previously worked in the field of textile design. Catherine has an honours degree in Textile Design from Dundee University.

When Catherineís not studying towards her qualification she enjoys baking, knitting and spending time with her partner Simon and dachshund Leo.







Megan Hastie

Megan has worked at the practice for 5 years but spent many years as a child visiting with her family and pets before this. She is in her final year of the veterinary nursing honours degree course at Napier University and is thoroughly enjoying her time there. Megan particularly enjoys nursing and caring for the many hospitalised in patients we have at our main surgery in Kirkcaldy.

In the very little spare time she has, Megan enjoys nights out with the nursing team and is devoted to her two guinea pigs Harvey and Patrick.
