Nursing Assistants

Shirley Ross (Kirkcaldy)

Shirley, our nursing assistant, is a friendly face known to all as she has been with us since 2000.

Shirley is a devoted pet lover and when not caring for animals at work she spends her time walking her Boston Terriers Becky and Dan and her disabled cat Alfie.

Gillian Sorbie (Kirkcaldy)

Gillian has been with St. Clair Vet Group since August 2002 as a nursing assistant and works both at weekends and some weekdays. Prior to starting work with us, Gillian would often come in with one of her menagerie of pets and so we have known her for many years!

Gillian has 4 children (soon to be 5) but still finds the free time to look after 5 Border Collies and various small furry pets. She is also involved in running a guinea pig & rabbit rescue. Phew!

Kelly Stirling (Glenrothes - Woodside)

Kelly has been with our Glenrothes branch since 1997. Her many years working with animals have allowed her to build up an extensive knowledge of pets and their problems. Kelly enjoys small animal surgery and has an interest in dog training. Kelly owns five border collies and competes in dog agility competitions and has competed twice at Crufts and at the World Agility Open in Belgium. Kelly also has two longcoat Chihuahuas which she enjoys breed showing.

Sandra Cairns (Glenrothes - Woodside)

Sandra has worked at the Glenrothes branch since 1996 and previously to this worked alongside Kelly at another local practice. They have known each other for many years and together form an extremely efficient team. Sandra is particularly interested in preventative healthcare and behavioural problems.

Sandra is married with two children who manage to occupy most of her time. Sandra also has two Rotties and two cats so she is kept bust in her spare time!

Lynsey Spence (Leven)

Lynsey joined our reception team at the Kirkcaldy surgery in October 2010 having previously worked for a local boarding kennels. She is now a Nursing Assistant at our Leven Branch.

In her spare time she enjoys looking after her rescue dogs Chase and doing agility with her Border Collie Cassie.

Kelly Elder (Kirkcaldy)

Kelly joined us as afternoon receptionist in 2010 and has quickly in as part of the team looking after our clients and their pets. In September 2014 Kelly moved to Nursing Assistant and is now based at our Kirkcaldy surgery.

Kelly is kept busy outside of work with her young family and walking her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rooney.

Emma Davies (Kirkcaldy)

Emma joined us in October 2011 as a assistant veterinary nurse at our Glenrothes surgery. Emma has completed an NC in Animal Care at Elmwood College, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

In her spare time she likes baking, walking her black Labrador Jeff and also enjoys beating her husband at crazy golf!

Kathy Ferguson (Glenrothes - Woodside)

After a career change from mental health nursing, Kathy studied for the HNC in Animal Care and Diplomas in Animal Behaviour and Dog Obedience Training and joined our Cos Lane team in 2014. She shows French Bulldogs at Crufts and is now a Breed Specialist Judge for French Bulldogs. She also owns Boston Terriers and the latest addition to the family is a Chihuahua. Clients will see her eye catching Frenchie and Boston van parked outside Cos Lane!

Amanda Collings (Leven)

Amanda has worked alongside Lynsey at our Leven surgery since 2015 although she is no stranger to St Clair Vet Group, having worked at our Woodside surgery in Glenrothes for 7 years previously.

Amanda has a beautiful wee boy called Cole and the two of them love walking with their Border Collie Bailey.

Cheryl Saunders (Glenrothes - Cadham)

Shannon Stuart (Kirkcaldy)

Shannon has visited the practice many times over the years with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Mia and has worked with us as a nursing assistant at weekends since 2014. She has an NC in Animal Care and is enrolled on the veterinary nursing preparatory course in Edinburgh which will involve coming in to the practice for training days during on weekdays too.
