Jarlath Busby BVM&S, MRCVS

Jarlath qualified from Edinburgh in 1988 and joined the practice in 1990, becoming a partner in 1991. He enjoys the role of general practitioner which has allowed him to get to know pets and their owners' families over the years. Jarlath's special interests include skin diseases and internal medicine.

When not busy at the practice, Jarlath enjoys a keen golfing rivalry with his wife Dawn and also likes to take time out to support Kirkcaldy Rugby Club.

Neil Geddes BVM&S, Cert VOphthal. MRCVS

Neil graduated from Edinburgh in 1987 and spent three years working in mixed practice in Cumbria. After a year spent working in Australia he returned to the UK and joined the practice in 1991, becoming a partner in 1993.

He gained his Royal College Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 1996 and has specialised in this field ever since.

Neil is married with two sons, Joshua and Jack. When not tending to the sick and needy Neil can be found frightening a golf ball around various Fife courses.

Ian Paterson BVMS Cert SAS MRCVS

Ian qualified from Glasgow in 1989 and spent four years working in mixed practice in the north of England. He then spent two years working and travelling in New Zealand and Australia before returning to Scotland and joining the practice in 1996. He became a partner in the practice in 1999.

His special interest is surgery and Ian holds the Royal College Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

Ian has travelled extensively throughout South America, North America, parts of Asia and the Antipodes although now lives a more stationary life with his wife and three children and a menagerie of pets! Hobbies include hillwalking, climbing and photography.

Fiona Burnet BVMS MRCVS

Fiona joined the practice in October 2004 having worked for around thirteen years in the area in mixed, predominantly small animal practice. She graduated in 1987 and brings to the practice a wealth of experience and fresh ideas. Her professional interests are varied and include dentistry, dermatology, animal behaviour and sea mammal rescue & care.

Fiona puts the rest of us to shame with her high energy hobbies which are sea kayaking, hill walking and cycling.

Dawn Robbie BVM&S MRCVS

Dawn graduated from Edinburgh in 2007 and since then has worked in small animal practice. She is currently undertaking a certificate in small animal medicine but also enjoys surgery and the variety that the job brings.

Dawn is married to Dave and the four legged members of the family are Tula the dog and cats CJ and Jinxy. Her other interests are food, fitness training and socialising.

Dawn Galloway BVM&S MRCVS

Dawn graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2009 and then worked in small animal practice near Blackpool. She joined St Clair in August 2013 to gain more experience and to be near her family who come from Angus. Currently she lives in Fife with her husband, springer spaniel, 2 cats and selection of tropical and pond fish. Her hobbies include walking and playing violin and she has recently joined a local orchestra.

Rosie Wardman BVM&S MRCVS

Rosie qualified in 2011 from Edinburgh Vet School and later joined St Clair family in April 2014. Main interests are soft tissue surgery and exotic animal medicine and surgery.

In her spare time Rosie loves dog walks with her 2 year old black lab Orla who Rosie describes as "loveable and bonkers, there is never a dull moment with her in my life!". She also enjoys horse riding and of course a little retail therapy!


Emma joined St Clair Vet Group in September 2014. Since graduating in 2008 she has worked in small animal practice in Scotland. She enjoys the challenging and varied case load that working in a busy first opinion practice brings and is currently studying for a Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, competing in events across the UK. At home she lives with her partner Douglas and Tilly the dog.

Dr. Jane Hunter BVMS PhD MRCVS DipMedAc UH Cert

Jane originally from Cowdenbeath, Jane's first experience of St. Clair (then Smith and Boyd) was on school work experience when the practice was located on Commercial Street. In 2007 Jane came back to us as a locum Vet at the Glenrothes Branch. However Jane is now concentrating on acupuncture and runs our acupuncture clinic at Kirkcaldy on Monday mornings. With 15 years experience in acupuncture and massage of both humans and pets she is very popular with the animals at St Clair.

In her spare time Jane enjoys sporting challenges for charity including swimming the Forth. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and they have a greedy 14 year old called Guinness.

Ulrike Hoffman-Johnson

Uli graduated from the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen (Germany) in 2002. She became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2005 and moved to Devon in 2006. Uli worked in a first opinion small animal practice near Plymouth until joining us in August 2015. She has obtained the advanced qualification (Cert AVP) in 2015 after taking advanced courses in internal medicine with Liverpool University. Uli plans to continue her studies with them and focus on cardiology for the next 2 years. She shares her life with her husband,beautiful daughter who just started school, 1 lovely Labrador Cole and a crazy Labradoodle Skylar. When not working Uli is the shuttle for her daughter, likes to read and garden and enjoys exploring the great Scottish countryside.

Iain Patrick BVM&S MRCVS

Iain graduated in 2015 from Edinburgh Vet School and initially worked in a small animal practice in Cornwall. He returned home to Fife in 2016 to St Clair Vet Group where he spent a lot of time seeing practice as a student. Iain enjoys all aspects of his job and his interests outside of work include breeding chickens, hill walking and kayaking.

Julia Henken BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS

Julia graduated from Nottingham Vet School in 2011. She worked for a short time on the South Coast of the UK before moving to New Zealand in search of adventure. After working in a rural mixed practice with the Taihape working dogs, she decided it was time to hone her skills further. She moved back to the UK and completed an internship at Willows Referral Service where she developed a passion for eyes.

She joined St Clair Veterinary Group in February 2017 and is currently working towards a certificate in Ophthalmology.

Julia lives in Edinburgh with her husband and ginger cat. She loves to try new things like Tough Mudder, furniture upcycling and beekeeping.
