Acupuncture
By
John Boyd I
first became interested in acupuncture twenty-three years ago. At
that time fewer people were as knowledgeable about alternative therapies
as they are today. Today people are willing to try an alternative
treatment for themselves and their pets, because, in acupuncture it does
not involve the use of more drugs. The success of acupuncture
treatments has demonstrated it to be viable as a primary treatment or
additional to conventional therapy.
A western
based approach to acupuncture together with research in the last decade
offers a scientific explanation as to how acupuncture works. The
western approach follows the principles of evidence-based medicine and
principally involves trigger point and segmental needling.
I provide
acupuncture treatment for a range of clinical conditions.
Acupuncture treatment usually involves a series of treatment sessions on
four or five occasions at approximately weekly intervals, depending on the
condition being treated. The acupunture sessions are scheduled
during normal appointment times to suit each client.
